The Texas State Historical Association has been taken over by right wing crazies and so the Alliance for Texas History has been formed. I am a member.
Last Friday 4/26/2024 night they had a reception and Saturday they had the confederance with presentations.
This was the place for the reception on Friday. I was there early. The acoustics of this with the curved walls reflecting sound back to the source and the concrete floors is the worst that I ever have been in during my entire life. I am 72.
It looks very cool though. The AfTH is just starting out and making do.
The next day’s session was at Texas Christian University at the Betsy & Steve Palko Hall in the Amon G. Carter Lecture Hall.
I arrived a few minutes late, so most of the blue Goody bags had been picked up. However, in the Lecture Hall I could see that the attendees all had their blue bag.

They were favorable to it. I talked to different persons involved as well as the newly appointed managing director. I want to re-write the history to provide some backstory.
With the flyer in all the goody bags the history of the 2010 Dallas bath house raids is now known to historians across Texas.
I will be bringing this flyer to the East Texas Historical Assocation convention this Fall.
Of course this won’t be the only thing I do.
