Bibllical Counseling Coalition homophobic theology.
This is their doctrinal statement.
https://www.biblicalcounselingcoalition.org/doctrinal-statement/
This is their confessional statement.
It asserts that counseling needs to be based on the Bible. This is a section:
Biblical Counseling Must Be Anchored in Scripture
We believe that God’s Word is authoritative, sufficient, and relevant (Isaiah 55:11; Matthew 4:4; Hebrews 4:12-13). The inspired and inerrant Scriptures, rightly interpreted and carefully applied, offer us God’s comprehensive wisdom. We learn to understand who God is, who we are, the problems we face, how people change, and God’s provision for that change in the Gospel (John 8:31-32; 10:10; 17:17). No other source of knowledge thoroughly equips us to counsel in ways that transform the human heart (Psalm 19:7-14; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3). Other systems of counseling aim for other goals and assume a different dynamic of change. The wisdom given by God in His Word is distinctive and robust. He comprehensively addresses the sin and suffering of all people in all situations.Wise counseling is an insightful application of God’s all-embracing truth to our complex lives (Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:6; Philippians 1:9-11).
The rest of the statement is about counseling being defined by their understanding of their god, the Bible, and their particular brand of Protestant theology.

However, there is more if you start digging into the credentials of the Christian counselors recommended by a church.
If you go to Cross Timbers Church in Argyle, Texas website, at
https://crosstimberschurch.org/
https://crosstimberschurch.org/healingplace/
This is the church which recently terminated Josiah Anthony.
Then look at some of the counseling services.
One of them is Truth Renewed Ministries in Keller, Texas. It is on the 2nd page as a non-profit organizations.
This is their webpage for their beliefs. There is a link to the Biblical Counselors Coaltion statement.
https://www.truthrenewed.org/ourbeliefs
Another is Covenant Biblical Counseling which at this webpage is a notice that they are in agreement with the Biblical Counseling Coaltion. They have a Flower Mound, South Denton, and Corinth, Texas locations.

Further, Adam Sandlin is “honored” to have an article at the Biblical Counseling Coaltion.
https://covenantbiblicalcounseling.com/2018/04/27/post-on-the-biblical-counseling-coalition-bcc/
You won’t find any mention of homosexuality at the online places of the Cross Timbers church, an you won’t find any mention of homosexuality at the Covenant Biblical Counseling or the Truth Renewed Ministries. It is only when you notice that they are in alignment with the Biblical Counsuling Coalition (BCC) and dig into the BCC website that you find mention of homosexuality. You need to dig down three levels to find the connection to a homophobic Christian group.
Some of the other counsuling services recommended by Cross Timbers church might also have affiliaitons or subscribe to the standards of some homophobic Christian counseling group, since it can’t be assumbed that they all have been discovered. Further, they might not list on their online presence their affiliation.
Another method of discovery of counseling services affiliated or partnering or subscribing to the Biblical Counseling Coalition.
If you search on Google, “Biblical Counseling Coalition,” and Texas, you will find outher BCC affiliated couseling services.
This church in Amarillo as as resource #5 the Biblical Counseling Coaltion.

Liberating Grace, which wasn’t found on the Biblical Counseling Coaltion website lists on its contact page that they are a partner with the BCC. They are in Grapevine, Texas.

Besides there being another network of supposed counsulors/psychologists that are homophobic, what does all this tell us?
The New Homophobia is not always upfront. It isn’t always immediately observable. Even with research you might not see that the institution is connected to homophobia. You really need to have a positive confirmation that the church isn’t homophobic, and since they use the language of love, “Love the Sinner, hate the sin,” you can’t rely on their being open hostility, to indicate homophobia, or even supporting statements indicating that they aren’t homophobic. My might love you to “cure” you or “save” you. The Gay person at that church may be out, but it is later that he is their example of Christ saving him from homosexual acts.
Be wary of a church unless you are absolutely sure of them.
