I saved it in the Internet Archive in case it disappears or isn’t easily available. This is the link.
In the following report I point out that she serves on the board of directors for one of the corporations controlled by Monty Bennett, publisher of the Dallas Express. There is an article by Candace Evans in the Dallas Express also.
This is the link to the D Magazine article about Monty Bennett’s business activities and mentions Candace Evans as being on the board of one of his corporations.

The Dallas Express has been waging a campaign against drag and is a platform to publicize the activities of Kelly Neidirt.
This is a rather extensive directory of anti-drag articles, almost all, are in the Dallas Express.
These are the Dallas Express anti-LGBT articles which aren’t attacks on drag.
Background information on the Dallas Express.
Denials and threats to me by Candace Evans.
I got contacted by Candace Evans on Facebook messenger.
She just threw out accusations and made claims. I don’t want to go through all of it, but she repeatedly said I slandered her. When I asked for specifics they either weren’t given or it was things I simply hadn’t said, or they were types of misdirections. Attempts to shift the topic to something else.
For example, I was threaten with a court action.
Candace Evans: “You called me homophobic. That is a lie. Ill go to court to prove. False.”
Ed Sebesta: “Let’s look at what I said exactly.”
The fact is that I never said she was homophobic. I said she was by her actions giving credibility to a homophobic entity.
She was “too busy” to look at what I said.
Earlier threats.
Candace Evans: “K i will talk to my attorney. Thank you. You need to write responsibility.”
Candace Evans: “I’d prefer to discuss this over coffee or a meeting rather than hire an atty so your call.”
Mostly it was potshots. Examples:
Candace Evans: “You did not check facts.”
Candace Evans: “Are you a journalist or just spreading gossip from Tim Rogers.” “Journalists reported facts.”
Candace Evans: “I am kindly asking you to publish the truth.”
However, the fact that Evans was on the board of directors of one of Monty Bennett’s corporation wasn’t denied, nor the presence of the article wasn’t denied.
This was the section of my article which she tried to focus on.
Candace Evans writing articles for Dallas Express
Candace Evans asserted that since it was published in Candy’s Dirt first, it wasn’t written for the Dallas Express. It may not have been originally intended for the Dallas Express, but her writing is being published by the Dallas Express. She is writing articles and making at least one of them available for the Dallas Express. What windy path the article might have followed before it became available for the Dallas Express isn’t germane.
Further, unless she said the article was published without her permission, which she wouldn’t state, even though I asked if it was stolen, there isn’t slander at all available. I could change it to “Candace Evans permits the use of her articles on Dallas Express,” which might be technically clearer, but the fact that her actions give credibility to a major homophobic publisher in the Dallas Fort Worth area, which was my point remains.
Slander is when it isn’t true and it is intentional and damaging. I think the essential point is that her actions aid and abet a major homophobe and a slight miswording isn’t the basis of the claim of my article.
Evans tried to represent that the article was somehow on the Dallas Express website without her being responsible for the article’s presence.
Candace Evans: “They lifted it.”
I asked for a retraction and for her to resign from the board of directors. No response was made to that.
If the article was stolen by Dallas Express, if that is what she meant by “lifted,” I said I would publish a modification of the post that her article was stolen. No reply.
I made it clear that I was very meticulous in my documentation and I dropped links into the Internet Archive.
Conversation stopped. I haven’t heard from here since as of the evening of 9/11/2024.
When Candace Evans was busy with her angry Facebook messages, was she already planning this joint event with Dallas Express? I don’t know. But it seems to me very hypocritical of her to be angry with me and threaten me with court action when she obviously is working with the Dallas Express in at least one joint action.
