Fort Worth Police Dept., Gays, & the Dallas Express. Update1.
The Dallas Express is busy with another attack on the Gay community.
Subscriptions are free.
Gays in the police force and the police in Pride events is critical to prevent Gay bashing.
Gays in the police force acts as a factor to prevent or at least minimize the police force having a homophobic culture. The police union will have Gay members and the unions are usually concerned about the welfare of all its members and also that its members aren’t prevented from cooperating as union members due to various divisions. It doesn’t always happens, but the likelihood is much greater with actual Lesbian and Gays in the police force.
Gay bashers have preferentially targeted Gays because they have been especially vulnerable targets.
Gays were often closeted and not wanting to come out by talking to the police.
Gays were often hesistant to contact the police because perceived the police to be homophobic.
Gay bashers had expectations that the police would be sympathetic to their attacks on Gays, or at least not be seriously concerned.
When there is a contingent of Gay & Lesbian police offers in the Pride parade it sends out several messages.
To Gays, you need not fear talking to the police when you are a victim of crime.
To Gay bashers, your victiim isn’t going to hesistate to report your crime.
To Gay bashers, the police are not sympathetic to your crime and will not be restrained by prejudice in going after you.
To Gay bashers, the police are likely to have programs in place to deal with any problem with Gay bashing.
Having a Gay & Lesbian contingent in the police force is a huge factor against Gay bashing and for the security of Gays & Lesbians.
Having Gays in the police force is likely to prevent having raids on Gay bars and bath houses, such as one that occured in 2010 in Dallas where eleven men were arrested.
Having a positive relationship with the police can be vital to the survival of Gays.
In 2017 a criminal gang was contacting Gays on Grindr, robbing their accounts, and then holding them prisoner. The police were able to catch them. After having so many captives, it has to be wondered what the criminal’s plan would have been to dispose of the captives. Probably a lot of dead bodies would have been found.

A factor for Gay security besides Gay bashing.
When Gays are victims of crimes unrelated to being Gay, they might hesistate to get the police involved since they fear homophobia. Having a positive relation with the police means that Gays can expect the protection of the law.
UPDATE 1:
This is a 2nd article in what looks like what is going to be a campaign against the Fort Worth Police Dept. being welcoming for Gays.
https://x.com/DallasExpress/status/1909344843505033380
Dallas Express campaign against Fort Worth Police Department polices regarding Gays.
The attack starts with this article.
Dallas Express, April 2, 2025, “Why Does Fort Worth Police Department Have A Gay Diversity And Inclusion Program?”
Somehow having a diversity program in the Fort Worth police department is a danger.
Questions about the prudence of diversity and inclusion programs in paramilitary organizations such as police and fire departments have been mounting since the California wildfires incinerated large swaths of the Golden State.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass terminated Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley, the department’s first lesbian chief, after there was national outrage about her department spending at least $300,000 per year on DEI programs while essential preparation efforts were neglected in the lead-up to the latest outbreak of wildfires.
One video that defined the debate over the LA Fire’s sexual DEI programs and fire preparedness showed LAFD Deputy Chief Kristine Larson responding to a hypothetical question about carrying a man out of a burning building with the quip, “He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire.”
It is automatically assumed that Fort Worth policies are like the policies in Los Angeles. It also asserts that the program involves hiring persons who aren’t qualified and not hiring based on merit.
A DEI program could just be letting people know that you aren’t discriminatory, and also you aren’t overlooking any potential source of recruits.
Next day there was this article.
Dallas Express, April 3, 2025, “Senator King, Fort Worth Police Department Respond To Report On LGBTQ Recruitment Program.”
Texas State Senator in this article implies that outreach to a community necessarily results in unqualified candidates.
He said recruitment of competent police officers is important no matter what sexuality, gender, or race the recruit happens to be. When he was involved in recruitment, he said the department went to great lengths to find only the most competent recruits.
“When you put a gun and a badge in someone’s hand, you give them tremendous authority… and you want to be certain that they have the most mental, emotional, academic, and physical merit,” he explained.
DX asked if King thought there were risks in recruiting officers on anything other than merit.
“In what universe is there not?” he asked rhetorically.
King added that every police call contains “tremendous unknowns” and that the public must be certain that every responding officer has solid judgment, trusting that each officer was selected on merit because of the officer’s authority to “arrest, detain, and investigate.”
Though King, when interviewed by the Dallas Express, makes the whole issue a technical one about recruiting, with research we find what is likely the true motivations to go after the Fort Worth Police Department.

Returning the Ten Commandments Back to our Classrooms: SB 10
It’s time to return the Ten Commandments back to our classrooms where they were displayed for over 200 years, and I’m pleased the Texas Senate has passed my legislation to do so. Few documents in the history of Western civilization and in American history have had a larger impact on our moral and legal code, and our culture, than the Ten Commandments.

From their doctrinate statement which is a popup. It is designed so it can’t be copied as text and it wouldn’t get picked up by Google.
From Section 17, (3) we are told that homosexuality is “offensive to God.”
Those who aren’t homophobic are to be expelled from the church.
Sections (5) and (6) are the usual New Homophobia statements to be really nice as homophobes.
Then again, those who aren’t homophobic will be thrown out.

Summary
In summary, the Christian campaign against Gays represents itself before the public as one thing, technical and non-religious, but the campaign is driven by those who are very religious.
The Dallas Express has been campaigning against Gays for some time now.
Dallas Express is either having reporters to drag shows to denounce them later in articles or reports anti-drag protests sympathetic to the anti-drag protestors.
Part of their campaign against an art show at the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth was describing the show has having LGBTQ+ content.
