Background
The Anglican Church of North America is one of the denominations formed by the break up of the Episcopalian denomination over the issue of homosexuality.
BBC, Jan. 11, 2016, “Anglican communion’s ‘bitter divide’ over gay rights.”
That split the Church openly in the US, with the breaking away of the traditionalist Anglican Church of North America (ACNA).

The Guardian, Jan. 8, 2016, “How issue of gay rights has racked Anglican churches for decades.”
Rowan Williams, then archbishop of Canterbury, refused to make a decisive break with the Episcopal Church and recognise the breakaway conservative Anglican Church of North America (ACNA). In the following years, Williams made various public statements seen as supporting a liberal stance on homosexuality, resulting in a boycott of the 2008 Lambeth conference by about 250 Anglican bishops.
ACNA Position on homosexuality.
Dec. 23, 2015, “The Birth of GAFCON.”
Their denomination was created to perpetuate their homophobia.
Anglicans who are homophobic and left the Church of England are supposedly “courageous.”
Clearly there was a crisis.
In 1998, the Lambeth Conference made clear that the world-wide Anglican Communion would stay true to the Bible’s teaching on homosexuality. But, in 2003, the American Anglicans (called The Episcopal Church, TEC), consecrated as a bishop the Rev Gene Robinson. In consecrating Bishop Robinson, who was a man living in a relationship with another man, TEC was clearly in defiance of the Lambeth 1998 Conference. Likewise, some in the Anglican Church of Canada (ACC) began to provide for the blessing of same-sex unions.
There were many protests both in North America and around the world. The Primates (chief Bishops) of the Anglican Communion held several meetings to seek to resolve the issue. Individual members of TEC and ACC, and in fact whole churches and Dioceses, began to leave the denomination. They could no longer stay in fellowship with those who endorsed same-sex unions. They feared that to stay would be to betray the gospel, disobey the Bible and endanger souls.
Jan. 19, 2021, “Sexuality and Identity: A Pastoral Statement from the College of Bishops.”
The whole statement is constructed with the strategy of the New Homophobia.
Our foundation is the Scriptural truth that God made us male and female in His image—a profound unity with distinction (Genesis 1:27). God established marriage between male and female to fill the earth through procreation (Genesis 1:28).
….
Furthermore, we equally affirm, following Paul, that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We say, with Augustine, that this Fall has affected our lives in destructive ways that have disordered our affections. While same-sex attraction is one manifest type of disordered affection, there are many other types of disordered affections. Indeed, we recognize that same-sex sexual relationships have been an oft-targeted sin while other sinful manifestations of our common fallen nature, such as pornography, adultery, divorce, greed, and disregard for the poor have sometimes been tragically discounted or even ignored.
Yet, even though humanity has fallen into sin, we rejoice in the Good News that Jesus has died and is risen from the dead. We declare that in Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, we know the fullness of the human person (John 1:1, 14). God nailed every disordered sin to the cross on which He died. Paul even describes redeemed people, who were once idolaters, adulterers, homosexuals, and so forth, as spiritually “chaste virgins” through the cleansing blood of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:1-2). By Jesus’ resurrection and life, He accomplished victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil. He then sent the Holy Spirit to give power to overcome any sin.

Feb. 9, 2023, “Gafcon Response to Church of England General Synod.”
The decision taken today by the General Synod of the Church of England and the explanations given are clear indications that the Church of England is moving a step at a time to fully accept the practice of homosexuality as part of the life and practice of the English Church. To some of us who have been hoping that the Church would remain with her distinctive identity from those who don’t believe the teaching of Scripture, this hope is diminishing.
We have lived through this with other Western Anglican Provinces that continually wavered on the ‘faith once delivered’ (Jude 3) and now outright deny the doctrine of biblical anthropology regarding gender identity and moral behavior. Those in the secular press and culture will argue that these are matters of justice, but God’s justice can never contradict God’s righteousness, and we know these changes attack the very core of biblical
authority. Have the Scriptures been clear on human sexuality through the centuries? Yes, they have. The majority of Anglicans around the world have concluded the same. And yet, now, the Church of England has authorized the blessing of sin and declared that sin is no longer sin.

Not homophobic enough to please everyone.
Remember, when Christians fight, the LGBT wins.
There is push back against the New Homophobia by haters. Also, it seems that there are self-hating Gays who want to be in this denomination.

Christianity Today, “Anglican Division over Scripture and Sexuality Heads South.”
At least 125 Anglican bishops gathered at the Lambeth conference in Canterbury, England, endorsed a decades-old resolution against “homosexual practice” along with a new provision that “renewed steps be taken to ensure all provinces abide by this doctrine in their faith, order, and practice.”
The conservative Global South Fellowship of Anglican Churches (GSFA) launched an effort last week to have Resolution 1.10, adopted at Lambeth 1998, reaffirmed as the official stance of the Anglican Communion after 2022 conference leaders scrapped an initial plan to affirm the resolution among an array of “calls” or statements on pressing issues.
The Global Anglican Futures group (GAFCON) is event-based and first met in Jerusalem in 2008 with 1,100 delegates from 29 countries. Ten years later, GAFCON convened 1,900 delegates from 53 countries. GSFA has its roots in high-level meetings that began in 1994 and currently has 24 member churches, including the breakaway Anglican Church in North America. [Boldface added.]

Associated Press, “Friction over LGBTQ issues worsens in global Anglican church.”
Friction has been simmering within the global Anglican Communion for many years over its 42 provinces’ sharp differences on whether to recognize same-sex marriage and ordain LGBTQ clergy. This year, the divisions have widened, as conservative bishops – notably from Africa and Asia – affirmed their opposition to LGBTQ inclusion and demanded “repentance” by the more liberal provinces with inclusive policies.
That topic will likely be paramount at the April meeting in Rwanda, to which GSFA bishops have been invited. It will be hosted by the Global Anglican Future Conference – known as Gafcon – which includes the archbishops of Nigeria, Rwanda and Uganda, as well as leaders of conservative Anglican entities that already have split from the Anglican Communion, such as the Anglican Church in North America. Why is a post being done on this denomination.
Locally it is being obscured that an individual or organization has connections to homophobia.
