One Hope, Inc. & the "He Gets Us" campaign.
What Joy Ashford has published in the Dallas Morning News is pernicious and sinister. This report on One Hope is a write up to be in support of a report on "He Gets Us" and Joy Ashford.

Internet Archive
I have saved all the the links here at the Internet Archive. If something disappears, and I think that is likely that some webpages are going to be pulled right away.
Somethings won’t save at the Internet Archive such a Facebook and X (formerly Twitter). YouTube pages will save but not the video. However, generally webpages save well.
My general practice is to save all the webpage in my reports so you can submit them into the WayBackMachine at the Internet Archive and pull them up.
Joy Ashford’s article and the Rolling Stone Article.
If you read both these articles you will see the impression Joy Ashford left of “He Gets Us,” and the reality of what “He Gets Us,” is. This is the Dallas Morning News article, “Dallas ad firm is behind “He Gets Us’ Jesus Super Bowl commericals.”
This is the Rolling Stone article, “Evangelical Billionaire Family Wants to Convert You on Super Bowl Sunday.”
It is in this article One Hope is mentioned. This is where you have a fairly good idea that “He Gets Us” is a program to pull people into Evangelical Christianity without being up front about the homophobia in their religion. From the article.
New corporate documents show Mart Green is on the three-man board of directors at Come Near, a North Carolina nonprofit that recently took over the He Gets Us campaign, in place of the Servant Foundation. The other board members are Bob Hoskins and Marwan Rifka, who are both executives at OneHope, an evangelical ministry focused on sharing gospel messages with children around the world; David Green says his family has supported OneHope for 25 years. (Come Near’s CEO, Ken Calwell, was previously the chief marketing officer at the Christian charity Compassion International.) [Boldface added.]
So two out of three of the board members of Come Near are, as this post will show, the Founder (Bob Hoskins) and Vice-President (Marwan Rifka) of OneHope.
Another reason I am writing this report.
They are global in their scope of action and they are a menace to Gays everywhere.

Founder Rob Hoskins has writte articles where his homophobia is apparent.
[1] “Don’t Break the Mirror,” by Rob Hoskins. The article is about how Rob Hoskins doesn’t think that the situation regarding the youth of Malawi is good.
It is not unusual for church leaders in various nations to be shocked to the point of being speechless when we present the findings of the research we’ve done in their country. Nations like Malawi, that had Christianity brought to them by David Livingstone and purportedly been a Christian nation for one hundred and fifty years, are often stunned to read the uninformed, confusing, conflicting, or disheartening youths’ answers to questions about their faith. For instance, pastors in Malawi would have said that homosexuality in their culture was not even an issue because “everyone in Malawi understands that homosexual acts are sinful” –yet the research showed that 30 percent of Malawi’s young people approve of same-sex marriage. [Boldface in the original.]
It is shocking to the church leaders in Malawi, to Rob Hoskins that “30 percent of Malaw’s young people approve of same-sex marriage.”
OneHope conducts surveys of youth in many different nations and then issues reports. This research will be in a following setion.
Rob Hoskins sees this as being contrary to their supposed Christian national history.

[2] “Grandpa, Gaga and God,” by Rob Hoskins. Lady Gaga is confused since she is religious, but not anti-Gay.
Paradoxically, Lady Gaga gleefully sings lyrics such as, “I’m beautiful in my way, Cause God makes no mistakes. Just love yourself & you’re set. I was born this way. No matter gay, straight, or bi, Lesbian, transgendered life…No matter black, white or beige Chola or orient made, I’m on the right track baby. I was born to be brave.”[1]
This is just one example of a culture that claims to be spiritual, yet is clearly confused about religion. Evidenced by this post-truth theology, it is not a new phenomena.

[3] “Why is it so hip for a kid to be an atheist?” by Rob Hoskins. The Evangelicals are have realized that being visibly hostile to Gays is resulting in their decline. From the article:
Some complain that organized religion is too suffocating, hypocritical, judgmental, or anti-gay.
Generally they are realizing that younger people are rejecting Christianity. Also, worrisome for them is that they are rejecting them for being anti-Gay.
https://robhoskins.onehope.net/why-is-it-so-hip-for-a-kid-to-be-an-atheist/
[4] “Global Youth Culture: Personal Experiences and Struggles,” by Rob Hoskins. In this article being homosexual is compared to being drunk, depression, victim of online bullying, high anxiety and recreational drug usage.
https://robhoskins.onehope.net/global-youth-culture-personal-experiences-struggles/
[5] “Seeking the Peace of the City,” by Rob Hoskins outlines a strategy to deal with the “LGBTQ.” This is the strategy adopted by “He Gets Us,” and numerous homophobic churches, institutions, and denominations. This article is about repackaging homophobic Christianity to look nicer and how it works to promote their homophobic Christianity.
I think of conversations between Christians and the LGBTQ community defined by grace and respect instead of discord and anger.

Marketing homophobia to youth around the world.
OneHope reports what they find to be alarming.
According to OneHope’s recent research, 27% of U.S. teens say they have felt sexually attracted to someone of the same gender within the past three months….
… Gen Z has grown up watching these cultural attitudes flex, and the change is not lost on them. A study done by Barna shows that 1 in 4 Gen Z’ers agree with the statement, “what is morally right and wrong changes over time based on society,” representing the highest rate of agreement of any generation.6 This seems to suggest that teens have seen how standards within a nation can change, such as with same-sex marriage, and now they’re believing it.
They feel that the youth don’t know how to resist these changes and they feel they are just conforming. They urge that youth be brought into Christianity and advocate homophobic religion without being alienating, sort of like the “He Gets Us,” campaign.
Rapidly changing realities give us all the more reason to guide this generation to biblical truth and reaffirm that some principles are unchanging and worth defending. As parents, teachers, or leaders of Gen Z, how can we teach our young people to make room for diversity without either caving to conformity or choosing to disengage and remain silent?

Rob Hoskins has a downloadable book.

It is about the OneHope program. On page 47 they talk about “sexual identity” being part of their survey and that being Christian is less of a struggle with sexual identity, which they mean what they call “same-sex” attractions. We review their reports later in this post.
In 2020, we conducted an updated research study entitled Global Youth Culture, which surveyed 8,394 digitally connected teenagers from twenty countries. This research gave us strong insight into where culture is heading, particularly concerning mental health, religious beliefs, technology, and sexual identity. The data affirmed that committed Christian teenagers (those that read and pray at least weekly) struggle significantly less than other teenagers. [Boldface added.]

Surveying the global acceptance of homosexuality and lamenting it.
OneHope is operating globally and working to push homophobic Christianity and oppose acceptance of homosexuality.
They conduct surveys of the attitudes of youth in nations all over the place from Mexico to Thailand to Spain to Lesotho.
They had left some files on their French website. They could be saved at the Internet Archive. They have a database reports like these, but you download them and they can’t be saved at the Internet Archive.
[1] This is a typical survey assessing Mexico titled, “Spiritual State of the World’s Children: Mexico.”
The questions aren’t listed in the reports, but there are discussions of the results.
In the section, “Attitudes toward Marriage and Relationships with the Opposite Sex Profile,” they have these discussions.
However, 76% do not consider cohabiting heterosexual couples without children to be family and 31% consider unmarried heterosexual couples nor do 24% unmarried homosexual couples living together to be family.
Female subjects are more likely than male subjects to consider unmarried couples with children or an unmarried woman with children to be a family. Urban subjects are more likely than rural subjects to consider cohabiting homosexual couples or unmarried heterosexual couples to be family as are older subjects
From the surveys they do a summary report. This is, “Spritual State of the World’s Children Summary Table, Mexico.” They have a column of “Postivie Aspects”, a column of “Negative Aspects”, and a column of “Key Notes.”
In the column of “Negative Aspects,” the report says, “23% agree that cohabiting homosexual couples are a family.” Under Key Notes they state, “Only 20% of respondant favored a traditional description of family (those related by birth, adoption, or marriage.) This latter appears to be what they think is the correct concept of a family.

[2] For Russia their survey as a negative aspect “10% accept that homosexual couples are families.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Russia_Findings_Glance.pdf
[3] For Phillippines a negative aspect is, “13% to 14% accept that homosexuals living together are a family. Rural students, males, and non-Evangelicals were more likely to accept this.” A Key Note is, “A large majority of respondents (77%) live in a traditional family, but only 12% chose the traditional definition for family—people related by birth, adoption, or marriage.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Philippines_Findings_Glance.pdf
[4] Mexico. Negative Aspect, “23% agree that cohabiting homosexual couples are a family. This increases with population density.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Mexico_Findings_Glance.pdf
[5] Madagascare. Key Notes “75% define a family traditionally—as people related by birth, marriage, or adoption. 9% and 12% believe that male and female cohabiting homosexual couples are a family.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Madagascar_Findings_Glance.pdf
[6] Ghana. Key Note, “85% describe a family as those related by birth, marriage, or adoption, but 10% to 12% consider cohabiting homosexual couples to be families.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Ghana_Findings_Glance.pdf
[7] Ethiopia. Key Note, “26% consider a cohabiting homosexual couple a family.”

[8] Togo. Key Note, “But in concrete cases an most (89-91%) did not think of childless, unwed heterosexuals or homosexual couples as families.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Togo_Findings_Glance.pdf
[9] Lesotho. Key Note, “Nearly 20% accept that a cohabiting homosexual couple is a family. Males and urban and older youth were more likely to accept this.”
https://onehope.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Lesotho_Findings_Glance.pdf
[10] Cambodia. Key Note, “Only 35% of participants define family as people related by birth, adoption or marriage. 16 to 18% regard a cohabiting homosexual couple as a family.”

[11] United States. Long Report. “Weakness & Threats,“
o 41% consider homosexual women a family
o 41% consider homosexual men a family
[12] Namibia. Long Report. “Weakness & Threats”
o 25% consider unmarried childless couples and 20% homosexual couples to be family.
[12] Thailand. Long Report. “Weakness & Threats.”
o 46% feel the traditional family does not play a significant role in the stability of society (21% consider two homosexual couples to be a family and 37% consider an unmarried man and woman without children a family)
There were many more such reports to download at their main website lamenting the acceptance of homosexuals all over th world.
Their report, “The Gen Z + LGBTQ+ Conversation.”
The point of this report is that Gen Z generally is not hostile to LGBTQ+ and they don’t respond to hostile angry anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.
On Page 9 they argue that Christianity is inherently homophobic and they refute arguments by Chrstians that accept LGBTQ+.
Pages 10, 11, 12 is a section titled, “Loving the LGBTQ+,} which is about having both homophobic Christian beliefs, but being loving about it. From the text.
We observed that teens shifted quickly from debating beliefs to advocating for loving practical actions towards LGBTQ+ individuals. This spoke volumes. Committed Christian teens have a burden to connect people to God and they intuitively know that the church’s response in this area can be a dealbreaker.
“People in the LGBT community are very pushed back from church because they think they’ll be judged for being gay,” said a 16-year-old boy. “They won’t be allowed to be there, they won’t be loved or appreciated, they’ll be told to change or be made fun of.”
You can see what the real meaning of the “He Gets Us” statement about how Jesus loves the LGBTQ+.

In this PowerPoint presentation which you can down load at the following page they list”Same-sex Attraction” as being a personal struggle along with Suicidal Thoughts, Depression, High Anxiety, Suicide Attempts.
In another section discussing Suicide, Lonliness and Depression, they state “1 in 5 teens reported feeling sexually attraced to someone of the same gender within the past three months,” as it was an affliction.
You can download it in 24 different languages.

There is a specifically United States report by going to the following website and then downloading the following PDF.
In the report section, “Church Attendance and Personal Struggles,” one of the personal struggles is Same-sex Attraction with numbers indicating that somehow going to church will make it less likely that you will have problems with “same-sex attractions.” “Same-sex attraction” was along side other personal struggles such as “Depression,”

There is an Africa report which you can download in English, French, Malagasy, Xhosa or Zulu.
On the following reports they discuss teens and same-sex attraction as a problem pages 56-59. The report on same-sex marriage is on pages 59-61.
https://globalyouthculture.oriocdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Africa-GYC-Report_N.pdf
There are other reports for other regions and nations. They always use the term “same-sex” attraction instead of homosexual attraction since they don’t to have persons with homosexual identities.
Other nations
They have other websites in other languages, at least one in French. I don’t know if there are others or have been others.
This report is in 24 different languages.
https://www.globalyouthculture.net/reports/global/
At there website they say they have worked in 148 languages and have 316 Active Programs. They are truly a global menace to Gays.
Summary
OneHope is a globally homophobic Christian organization.
Since two of the three board members of OneHope are also two of the three leadership team running Come Near, the nonprofit producing the “He Gets Us” campaign it can be reasonably assumed that the “He Gets Us” campaign is a form of stealth homophobia.
Further it becomes very clear that the design and thems of the “He Gets Us” campaign as very consistent with how OneHope has decided the best way to sell Christianity, avoid hostile angry homophobia.
The LGBT in other nations should be alerted to the activities of this organization.
