The campaign against Dallas Pride 2024 has started.

Introduction
There were three distinct types of groups protesting and conducting anti-LGBT campaigns at the Dallas Pride event at Fair Park on June 3rd. There was Protect Texas Kids (PTK) and the New Columbian Movement. .
There were also street preacher type Christian groups and Christians handing out leaflets. These latter two type of Christians weren’t part of the anti-drag protest. I report on them in the Part 1 report on Dallas pride at this link.
This report, Part 2 will be about PTK and the New Alliance.
The anti-drag protestors
The protestors were spread out. Dallas police provided the barriers to keep them seperate from the LGBT people entering and exiting the Dallas Pride. There were several police officers in both uniform and undercover there. I am beginning to recognize the undercover officers at this point.
There was PTK with Kelly Neidert indicated by a red arrow. I have a link to a post with full background information about them at the end of this post. Originally they were in the sun to the right of the entry way, but it was very hot out and they moved into the shade of this tower.
There was the New Columbian Movement which likes to fly flags. They were chanting in Latin. They are a reactionary Catholic group. I have at the end of this post a link to a post with background information.
I was told that later after I had left, that an attendee of Dallas Pride went behind the barrier and broke the cross and the police then apprehended that person, but took them away and then released the person.
It is always important to know what jurisdiction you are in. Had this happened in Arlington or Plano this person would have been in jail.
Counter-Protestors
Take Back Oak Lawn posted the Counter-protesting event.
https://www.facebook.com/events/972359730608468
Twelve had reponded they were going and 71 said they were interested. Only about seven or eight people showed not counting myself and another person who showed up earlier and then left when it appeared that Take Back Oak Lawn were no shows.
I think two members were with Antifa.
It was hot and it was unpleasant, but the anti-drag people out numbered us 2 or 3 to 1. For all the people showed up, you were great and they helped hold my signs when I needed to photo document. Thank you Take Back Oak Lawn.
When you say you are going to be there at a certain time and new people showup and no one is there, it isn’t good.
The signs held were small and with marker pen.
The counter-protestors originally were standing way over by the DART station and I asked them why there were way over there. They said that the police asked them to keep a distance apart. I said, “When do we let the police tell us what to do.” They moved closer to a position over by the large pillar for the rest of the time. I know they don’t want a conflict with the police, neither do I, but they should only do the minimum and test what the minimum is. Dallas Radicals, when an 71 year old burgeoisie guy (me) is telling you that you that you aren’t pushing hard enough, I think you have issues.
Even moving closer they were still way away as this Instagram post by PTK shows.
However, I we were all in the horrible heat and they were really troopers. One of them brought to mea bottle of cold water and that is why I was able to survive the heat.
Also, they actually showed up, where were the other supposed radicals in the Dallas LGBT?
However, a lot of the LGBT going in and out of Dallas Pride shouted out strong criticisms and insults. So there was in the end a fairly effective body of counter-protestors.
My Protesting
Kelley Neidert made sure she took a picture. As I reported in the Part 1 post, this poster shocked the opposition. One of the Counter protestors took my sign and held it the whole time until I had to leave.
The opposition read it. Press and freelance photographers took photos.
The important thing is that this signs shows the ridiculous nature of PTK’s assertions and it pushes back on the anti-Gay Christians reminding people that they have their religion has its own little weird things.
I think it is time to take the gloves off and hit back.
Protect Texas Kids (PTK) reporting of the event.
I think it is important to see how PTK reported their protest to understand their strategy.
PTK wanted to represent Dallas Pride as a free show. There was a lot less to be obseved than at Carnival in Brazil. Click on the this picture, you will see their instagram post. Page was found actually. Maybe this is a substack bug.
This was also on Twitter.

PTK focused on being victims. People going to Dallas Pride and some were not shy in reportin it. Click on the following to see the full video. Somehow substack is cutting off the bottom half.
They also posted these lively Lesbians on Twitter.

These are Lesbians who giving PTK a piece of their mind. The police escorted the PTK people away.
Tweet with Kelley tieing herself to the cross.

The Dallas Express had a report, “Activist Threatened at Dallas Pride Event.”
https://dallasexpress.com/city/activist-threatened-at-dallas-pride-event/
Looking forward
All the drag shows in Dallas have been shut down. I think the next target will be Dallas City Hall. Whereas stores having Pride Products might be targets, they usually are in malls, or have large parking lots between them and the street where the protestors would stand. Dallas City Hall is on public property and they could protest right there.
The Dallas Express, sympathetic and supportive of Kelley Neider has had these two articles.
“EXCLUSIVE: Dallas Mandates Transgender Pronoun Use.”
https://dallasexpress.com/city/exclusive-dallas-mandates-transgender-pronoun-use/
“Dallas Taxpayers Fund Gender Alteration Surgeries”
https://dallasexpress.com/city/dallas-taxpayers-fund-gender-alteration-surgeries/
“Dallas Mandates Open-Gender Restrooms”
https://dallasexpress.com/city/dallas-mandates-open-gender-restrooms/
How accurate these stories might be, I don’t know, but the Dallas Express is clearly mobilizing the right wing to undertake a campaign against Dallas City Hall.
It remains to be seen how much the supposed friends of the Dallas LGBT standby the LGBT.
