Perot Museum ads in Dallas Express
Very frequently Perot Museum ads appear in the Dallas Express.
Subscriptions are free.
(8/31/2024) No reply to my email, but but I don’t see Perot Museum ads in the Dallas Express this morning.
It didn’t take a lot of effort to stop this empowerment of homophobia. A lot of times people think that they can’t do anything, but in many cases just an email will do it.
I did save a lot of things to the Internet Archive
https://web.archive.org/
As well as creating a folder with a detailed name and saving screen captures. I recommend SnagIt so you can do rolling screen captures.

The Perot Museum in Dallas.
Perot Museum Ads in Dallas Express.
Since there is always a faction of Gays in Dallas that always want to make excuses for the establishment homophobia I want to point out one thing. There are no ads from any credible advertiser otherwise. There are no other Dallas or Texas museum ads showing up. There are no major corporations advertising.
What you see are ads for gadgets and health recommendations that seem rather dubious to me.
It seems that you are presented with different ads each time you visit the website, but if you scroll down far enough you will see an add for the Perot Museum.
Is it purposeful or carelessness?
I don’t know. I don’t know which churches the board of directors for the museum go to. I don’t know if they are associated with the publisher of the Dallas Express.
It is possible that there might be some linkage. Candace Evans of Candy’s Dirt is on the board of directors of a corporation which the publisher of the Dallas Express controls.
Or it could be carelessness. You will notice that there aren’t any corporations of note advertising or the Dallas Museum of Art or any other institution that would likely be concerned for their reputation.
So at this time, 8/24/2024, 10:59 am, I don’t even know if the Perot Museum knows their ads are appearing in the Dallas Express.
Contacting the Perot Museum
I will be mailing them a physical letter, but I did send this email.
The following is the text of the above letter.
Dear Perot Museum:
Along side ads for what appears to be medical nostrums and gadgets there are the ads for The Perot Museum in the Dallas Express.
I took screen captures.
I don’t see any other museums advertising in this publication nor any corporation or institution that would be concerned about their reputation if their advertisements appeared in the Dallas Express.
I don’t know if your ads appear in this homophobic magazine out of carelessness or that they appear because The Perot Museum supports their extremist ideology.
It might be that some of the members of the board of directors for the museum are members of homophobic groups or churches.
I think though, if Perot Museum adds continue to appear in the Dallas Express, it does indicate an agenda of the Perot Museum, or more plainly stated, The Perot Museum is the enemy of the LGBT, regardless of what excuses you might make.
The text of this email will be added to a post in the Dallas Gay Liberation newsletter.
