President-elect Donald Trump has said he would nominate to head the health agencies of the United States, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an infamous supporter of quack medicine.
This is a calamity for Gay health. There are some opportunities though for us to exploit.

Kennedy (RFK) Jr. to head the $1.7 trillion Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) sent shock, disbelief, jitters, and even panic through the public health and scientific community. Kennedy has a long history of elevating debunked antivaccine claims, raising alarms about the safety of foods and medicines, and decrying what he sees as corruption at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), agencies he would oversee.

Insurance coverage for HPV, Hepatitis A & B, Mennigitis, and Mpox vaccines
If the federal health agencies don’t recommend getting a vaccination then the insurance companies don’t cover it. This can be really expensive. A lot of Gays will really struggle to afford getting the necessary vaccinations if there is no insurance coverage.
So though RFK Jr. says he won’t prevent people from getting the vaccines they want, he could also have health federal agencies not recommend them. You will still be able to get the vaccination, but for a large fraction of Gays getting fully vaccinated will be unaffordable.

Production of HPV, Hepatitis A & B, Mennigitis, and Mpox vaccines could be halted.
Even if you could afford paying for the vaccination, you still might not be able to get vaccinated, because the companies have stopped making them or the manufacture of the vaccines has been halted by federal government action.
RFK Jr. says he is going to review the data on vaccines and it can be absolutely expected he will find them to be unsafe. So as the person in charge of the federal health agencies he will then have to stop the production and distribution of the vaccines.
Even if he doesn’t forbid the vaccines, the Trump Dept. of Justice might be used by RFK Jr. to harass vaccine manufacturers to the point they quit making vaccines.

Mpox
It is going to be necessary that the effort against mpox in Africa continue and be continued strenously before it somehow slips into the United States.
Further we will need mpox vaccines in the United States to make sure if it gets here, it is stopped.
Whether both will happen is very questionable with RFK Jr. as the head of health agencies.
Further, the mRNA mpox vaccines might not be available.
With a mpox cases now showing up in the Western world, the lack of an mpox vaccine could be catatrophic. We can expect RFK Jr. to make an mpox epidemic catastrophic.

You might not get anti-viral drugs or PREP. Becuase is the federal government decides they aren’t real medicines it is illegal to sell them.

Kennedy has frequently cast doubt in the past whether HIV causes AIDS and the effectiveness azidothymidine (AZT), the first ever drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat HIV and AIDS.
The causal relationship between human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) has long been established. As both federal health agencies and the World Health Organization have stated, HIV can lead to AIDS when it reaches its most advanced stages and is left untreated.
While Kennedy has at times acknowledged HIV can cause AIDS, he’s also argued the more likely culprit has purposely been obscured by scientists and the pharmaceutical industry in order to profit off AZT.

The potential HIV vaccine with really good odds of success is an mRNA vaccine.
It is being developed by Moderna.
RFK Jr. was against the mRNA Covid vaccine made by Pfizer and Moderna.

Kennedy: It's really hard to say. The Moderna vaccine [is] probably the more reactogenic of the two. And I would say that it's at the indicia from the clinical trial, and from what we've seen on the ground, are that it is extremely reactogenic.
Reactogenicity refers to reactions that occur soon after vaccination, representing "a physical manifestation of the inflammatory response to vaccination," according to a September 2019 article in the journal NPJ Vaccines. "A reactogenic vaccine is not the same thing as an unsafe vaccine," Saad Omer, a vaccinologist and the director of the Yale Institute for Global Health, told The Atlantic in a December 2020 article.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated on its website that the immediate side effects from the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine "were common but were mostly mild to moderate."
Meaning what?
Meaning that in the clinical trials it was five times as deadly as the Pfizer vaccine. During a phase one trial, you had 100 percent injury rate after the second dose. You had a 6 percent injury in the low-dose group after the first dose, and that is one in every 20 people has a serious injury, meaning medical intervention or hospitalization required. And in the high dose group, it's a 20 percent, 21 percent injury rate, which means one in five people are gravely injured and required medical intervention. That kind of product would never get FDA approval.
No one died as a result of receiving the Moderna or Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in any stage of clinical trials.
The Phase 1 trial for Moderna's vaccine involved testing different dosages of the vaccine on 45 participants to test the safety of each dose and find out what immune response is produced.
It goes on and on like this where Kennedy makes wild claims which are just pulled out of the air and in defiance of the facts.

Moderna mRNA vaccines for Herpes, and other diseases won’t get approved.
Moderna had a pipeline and is coming up with a great many vaccines for numerous diseases and therapeutics for cancer. This includes mpox, zika which can be sexually transmitted, as well as VZV (Varicella Zoster Virus, Herpes) and HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus).

There are a lot of diseases in the world, and before jet travel, some diseases somewhere in the world wasn’t likely to be a problem. Of course there was the Black Death.

This disease can be contagious and has a high fatality rate. The government took strong measures shutting down schools and colleges and having containment zones.

The Kerala government on Tuesday imposed lockdown-like restrictions at containment zones in Malappuram where a 24-year-old recently died due to Nipah infection. Earlier in the day, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said 126 people in Malappuram were isolated as high-risk individuals after the death a 24-year-old man recently due to Nipah infection and of them, 13 were tested and their samples were found negative.
If Nipah got on the loose in the United States do you think the Trump administration would do lockdowns and shut down schools? The conservative reaction to Covid pandemic efforts and vaccinations provides a preview. There would be some stupid conspiracy theory instead as the basis of the governments response. There would be no vaccine nor an emergency plan to make make one. There would be bodies on the streets. There would be catastrophic disruption. There could be worse food shortages than there was during the covid epidemic. There might be a loss of electricity.
There are many pathogens which could cause the next pandemic.

Not requiring vaccinations for schools.
Likely we are going to see even more outbreaks of measles than we have before. Other diseases long forgotten will make a comeback.
For Gay school teachers their job is going to be hazardous. They need to make sure they have masks, alcohol, cleansing wipes and gloves.

Preparedness
There will be two parts to this. One is what you need to do in case of bad health policies, one is what you need to do in preparation in case of a pandemic.
Bad health policies.
Get vaccinated now for all the vaccinations you should have.
AIDS patients should try to stockpile drugs. The twice a year injection hasn’t been approved yet. If it gets approved, it would be good to get. At least you are covered for 6 months. It will give you time to come up with a plan.
PREP users should start stockpiling.
Pandemic
Household goods: When there was a run a toilet paper in Hong Kong during the covid pandemic, I figured there would be run on toilet paper here in Dallas in abou 3 to 5 weeks. There was. And I figured there would be a run on everything. There was. However, by then I had toilet paper, a refrigerator freezer full, paper towels and wipes.
You need to look at the expiration dates of foods and organize by expiration date. Also, you need to consider how you might cook things if there is no electricity. I would do some test eating. I found that a cheese spread was really salty.
There never was any alcohol at the store, so I got 4 gallons of 99% Isopropyl anhydrous alcohol through Amazon.

Masks. I was not able to get the special n95 grade masks for doctors and nurses. My neighbor gave me a couple and we would use them and then clean them, and they lasted a little bit. Even the regular masks were hard to get.
Gloves: They might get scarce also.
Cleansers. Hard to find. Having some bleach on hand might be important.
Opportunities
Raw Milk
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. encourages the drinking of raw milk, a very risk thing to do.
Let the homophobic Christians and other crazies drink raw milk. Don’t argue with them.

Days before the presidential election, Kennedy shared his wish list for the FDA, which included ivermectin, stem cell therapy and raw milk.
In recent months, public figures from Marjorie Taylor Greene to “trad wife” influencer Hannah Neeleman, have joined the raw milk endorsement, leaving government officials alarmed. Experts urge consumers to avoid unpasteurized dairy products, particularly in light of the recent discovery of the first strain of bird flu (H5N1) infecting cows in multiple states like Texas.
Raw milk never was safe to drink, but now there is the risk of bird flu as it spreads among dairly cattle.
There is no necessity for us to drink raw milk. We can even drink one of the milk alternatives or no milk at all.
DO NOT, do not put any effort to convince homophobic Christians not to drink the raw milk. This is an opportunity for differential advantage over the homophobic Christians.
If there is a pandemic, it isn’t your responsibility to encourage homophobic Christians to get vaccinated. It will be a waste of time anyways.
Conclusion.
This is a sort of rush post, but I wanted people to start realizing what they need to do as soon as possible. It is going to take time to schedule vaccinations and take them. I only get one vaccination at a time and then it is day with flu symptoms.
You will need time to figure out what you are going to stockpile and where you will stockpile it. Further, later, others might see the need and like with covid, they will go to the store and see that what they need has already been sold out.
For people using PREP, I am not sure how or where you will get PREP to stockpile, but you should at least now start to think about what you might be able to do.
For AIDS patients I am not sure how or where you will get AIDS drugs to stockpile, but you should at least now start to think about what you might be able to do.
There is no time to lose.
