Dallas Morning News article about Binkley and his pious claims.
This was the article.
Some key quotes from the article.
Ryan Binkley, 55, said he thinks people can unify the country “by listening to and respecting one another.”
Binkley is quoted as follows:
“God spoke to my heart quite often about the direction for our country, where we’re headed, and the message for us is it’s time for us to unify again and it’s time for us to love our neighbor again and to get involved in the lives of people.”
Though this statement should give LGBT people pause.
“The message we have, I think, is one that is for the hope of America,” he said. “It’s for the heart of America coming back to God and trusting in God and each other, and I believe God wants to bring a new message to our country.”
One would think that a reporter would have asked questions, but didn’t. The Dallas Gay Liberation newsletter will do that for you.

I did a Google advance search and got this result: “our search - homosexual OR sodom OR homosexuality OR gay OR lesbian OR sodomy OR LGBT site ... - did not match any documents.”
However I found this:

What does Create Church believe?
Looking at this link we come across this under the entry for “SACRAMENTS.
Marriage: We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman, instituted by and publicly entered into before God (Matthew 19:4-6). As a consequence, the Church regards any and all forms of sexual immorality, including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, pornography or even lustful intent toward such, as sinful and ultimately unsatisfying. [Boldface added.]
Comparing homosexuality and bisexuality to “bestiality,” “incest,” and calling it “sexual immorality” isn’t respectful or really caring. If Binkley is elected president this is the language the United States Presidency will be adopting towards Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals.
This church will be included in our post of links to posts about local anti-Gay groups active in the Dallas area.
Why is this danger of a national scope to LGBT not get reported except in this newsletter?
That is the question that needs to be asked. Will the Dallas (Vichey) Voice going to report this? I doubt that. The Stonewall Democrats will likely report it if it becomes useful to harvest LGBT votes. However, they don’t want to criticize the Dallas Morning News.
What does this say about the Dallas Morning News? They may run some LGBT related articles, but they publish an urban paper and there needs to be LGBT issues in the mix. They aren’t really that concerned. Perhaps they are playing for both audiences.
