Stonewall Dems give Royce West a free pass on April 15th, new betrayals on the 20th. Dems recognized that won't be held accountable.
When your politics is political careerism, you don't really want to face any issue with fair weather Dems.

Dems Betray LGBT Again
This was the vote on the school library book banning bill. You can see a lot of Democrats voted against it.
https://legiscan.com/TX/rollcall/HB900/id/1306027
You can see Carl Sherman (D) Lancaster, voted for it, and Shawn Thierry(D) Austin voted for it. Shawn Thiery is a member of the Ally/LGBTQ caucus.
The Dallas (Vichey) Voice is wailing. Eleven Democrats voted for the book ban they say.

Quoting from the article:
Rep. Shawn Thierry, D-Austin, who is also an ally/ member of the Texas House LGBTQ Caucus spoke passionately on the House floor in favor HB 900.
Rep. Carl Sherman, D-DeSoto, was one of the 11 Democrats voting for the bill. He was endorsed by Stonewall Democrats in the past. [Boldface in the original.]
However, it seems that 13 Democrats voted for the bill, and 52 Democrats held the line by voting against it.
This is the Tweet of Shawn Thierry about her vote and justifying it.

So a constituent asked for a list and this was State Rep. Thierry’s reply. Notice, that the person asked for a list and Thierry cherry picked a book that really shouldn’t be in a school.
I don’t think that this book should be in the public schools. By the way, this is what happens when you have Ultraism, that is when people are competing with each other to show how they are on the cutting edge more than others. Some librarian thought they were more radical than thou by having this book. Though Thierry doesn’t say whether this book was actually found in any Texas school library.
Please don’t bother me with your ideological rationalizations for this book in a public school library. Parents globally have anxieties about their teenage children having sex and they will accept basic technical information, but they don’t want to hear about butt plugs.
What a teenager needs is basic information about being Gay and acknowledgement of their existence has a place in the universe.
As the subtitle of the following article says:
Legal experts, librarians and some parents say House Bill 900’s language is so vague and broad that it could ensnare books that are not inappropriate.
https://www.texastribune.org/2023/04/19/texas-libraries-books-schools-legislature/
(Ed Sebesta is banned from the Stonewall Democrate page, so he doesn’t know what they are making of the above votes.}
Giving TX State Sen. Royce West paves the way for Democrats to vote for HB 900.
The big Royce West apology meeting was on the 15th. The 13 Democrats voting for HB 900 was on the 20th.
As the article says,
After Dallas Voice printed a story in our April 14 issue about Sen. Royce West’s yes vote on an anti-drag bill, the senator met with a group of about 20 constituents for more than an hour on Saturday, April 15. West then issued a statement apologizing for his vote.

This article says, “over the weekend,” which would be either April 15th or 16th.

[Link to a post about free pass given to Royce West at the end of this post.]
So when the vote came up on HB 900, it was fairly clear that Stonewall Democrats and other LGBT+ groups would be very likely to give the Democrats a free pass on this.
Texas State Rep. Carl Sherman would be aware of how Royce West was given a free pass. Sherman would be aware that Carolyn King Arnold and Tenill Adkins who nominated the vicious homophobe Vonciel Hill Jones were endorsed by Stonewall Democrats. Sherman would be aware that Zarin Gracey who was the executive pastor of a church whose Senior Pastor was a nationally prominent homophobe, was endorsed by Stonewall.
Maybe, if there was a Texas bill for the execution of homosexuals, Sherman might vote for it and still get a free pass from the Stonewall Democrats.
Our current situation
Things are deteriorating for LGBT in Texas and rapidly. Yet, it seems that it isn’t recognized by the LGBT establishment. They don’t have any fight in them, and they are hostile to those who do have fight in them.
They just want to pursue their political careers and not get into fights with Democrats and be rejected by the Democratic political establishment which doesn’t want to have a conflict with Royce West or Carl Sherman.
At the BuzzBrew protest, they “came as individuals” and their banner wasn’t to be seen.
It needs to be remembered that 52 Democrats did vote against HB 900. Don’t reject all Democrats or say they are all bad. The issue here is that you really need to hold accountable Democrats that aren’t supporters of the LGBT.
You need not to accept some rationalization. You need to have a backbone.
The prospects that the Stonewall Dems will acquire a backbone is poor. There needs to be a new organization not affiliated with a party.
Also, Party on the Block Facebook group needs to recognize that the future may be NO Party on the Block.
