Storm of homophobia headed towards Texas Gays.
Multiple anti-Gay campaigns are being run. This newsletter is a guide to what anti-Gay campaigns are occuring and who is leading them.
The Gay community is facing multiple attacks at this time and this post is to inform people of the multiple anti-Gay forces operating in Dallas and the surrounding area.
(1) Attempting to shut down the Cedar Spring Strip Gay Bars
In an earlier report, “The Gay bar shutdown effort has begun,” about the Dallas Express articles about drag shows, I stated that the real goal of getting places that have drag shows classified as sexually oriented business was to get the businesses shutdown by the local zoning laws for sexually oriented businesses as well as making it very difficult for them to be run under Texas laws.
I provided links and quoted sections of State of Texas laws for sexually oriented businesses and Dallas zoning ordinances to show that this would basically shut down the bars in two ways. This is the link to the report. (This section continues after the following link.)
Gleefully they later did this tweet about where they make it clear that drag shows would shut down businesses.
This is the link to the article. “Local Bar Hosting Drag Shows for Kids May Violate Ordinance,” by Eric Geist.
https://dallasexpress.com/local-bar-hosting-drag-show-for-kids-may-violate-ordinance/
For a drag show in Roanoke, Texas the Dallas Express called the City Manager and suggested that it should be considered a Sexually Oriented Business and should be shut down by zoning ordinances. From the article:
This business did not apply for a permit as a sexually oriented business, “it was approved as a distillery and grill,” Roanoke City Manager Scott Campbell explained in an email to The Dallas Express.
The Dallas Express asked Campbell if he believed events such as this “drag brunch” were sexual in nature, and he pointed to the City’s zoning ordinance, which “does address and define Sexually Oriented Businesses.”
“If a business were found to violate its allowed use with activity that met the technical definition of an SOB, we would address it accordingly as prescribed in the zoning ordinance,” Campbell remarked.
They then press the city manager as to whether he classifies a drag show as an adult business. The article then goes on to explain that Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has announced that whether places have drag shows should be liable for state fees for operating a sexually oriented business. This alone, without the zoning ordinances would shut down the Gay bars.
The plan is in place to shut down all drag shows put on by the Gay bars, if not the Gay bars themselves, since given the zoning laws for sexually oriented businesses they would have to be shut down.
(2) Monkeypox
This website is named after its leader, Jim Denison, and NOT the city. It is headquartered in the City of Dallas.
He does a lot of anti-Gay writing.
https://www.denisonforum.org/?s=homosexual
Here Jim Denison talks about monkeypox and Gays in this May 24, 2022 article.
This is his tweet.
In the article found with the above link, Jim Denison complains that he might unjustly be called homophobic and then wishes his readers to consider the following when they think about monkeypox.
· Homosexuality is not God’s design for us.
· God loves all of us, whatever our sexual orientation.
· We are all broken sexually.
· And no one is beyond his redeeming and transforming grace (cf. 1 Corinthians 6:9–11).
Looking at the date of this article, you can see that Denison didn’t waste any time exploiting monkeypox. You might dismiss this as a fringe organization of just one person, but they have a large staff,
Further, Dallas City Council member Cara Mendelsohn of District 12 invited one of the Denisonforum’s staff members, Rochia Green, to give an invocation at the 8/24/2022 City Council meeting. They are connected into some parts of the Dallas establishment.
There is starting an effort to exploit monkeypox as a means to oppose Gays. We will need to see how much effort Dallas County puts into stopping monkeypox.
(I put a link to an article about the invocations made by homophobes at the end of this post.)
(3) Protesting Pride Events and Drag Shows
The organization Protect Texas Kids and the publication Dallas Express work together to shutdown Pride Events and protest drag shows.
In this issue of their weekly Protect Texas Kids condemns the Dallas ISD Skyline High School Marching Band participation in Dallas Pride and also condemns the Pride event in Plano, Texas.
https://firepit.campstrategic.com/vm.cfm?i=D0AB56EC1BAFD29A
The Sept. 29th issue, (emailed not online yet) brags about protesting a drag bingo even in Katy, Texas and calls for a protest of an upcoming Pride event in Frisco.
This is their Facebook Event to protest Pride in Frisco.
https://www.facebook.com/events/654707642594444
This is their post on Facebook calling for help to protest.
The Dallas Express has this article about the Plano Pride Event
https://dallasexpress.com/children-exposed-to-sexualized-content-at-city-of-plano-venue/
They try to put pressure on the City of Plano to not allow these events.
The Dallas Express reached out to Plano City Manager Mark Israelson, as well as Mayor John Muns and each member of the city council for comment on this story.
And also mobilize Texas State Rep. to suppress Plano Pride.
The Dallas Express also reached out to Collin County state representatives Jeff Leach, Scott Sanford, and Matt Shaheen for comment on the event and the City of Plano’s hosting of the event. Only Shaheen responded.
“I see serious moral, ethical, and legal concerns with the September 17th event that occurred in a Plano Park by the North Texas Pride Foundation. Children twelve years of age and under were targeted and were recklessly exposed to obscene materials with alarming sexual content and transgenders conducting themselves in sexually inappropriate ways,” Shaheen wrote.
Sometimes Dallas Express works together with Protect Texas Kids as shown in this article, titled, “Police Allegedly Break Up ‘Kid Friendly’ Drag Show.” Notice the use of the word “allegedly” since the police were their to keep the police and didn’t shut down the show.
https://dallasexpress.com/police-allegedly-break-up-kid-friendly-drag-show/
The article starts with a photo of the leader of Protect Texas Kids in front of protesters and the people protecting the bar. The article explains that the protest was led by Kelly Neidert who is the head of Protect Texas Kids and gives a link to their website.
These two groups, possibly working with other groups, are running a campaign to shutdown drag shows and Pride vents.
(4) Protect Texas Kids
This group is organizing the protests against drag shows in North Texas and any effort to make schools a more welcoming place for LGBT. They have been banned from Twitter. They are on Facebook.
https://www.facebook.com/ProtectTXKids
In this case the fact that the Dallas ISD Skyline High School participated in the Dallas Pride Parade is supposed to be a “groomer” event and they were supposedly forced to participate.
https://firepit.campstrategic.com/vm.cfm?i=D0AB56EC1BAFD29A
They help organize protests against Pride events denounce them also.
The publication Dallas Express works to support them and reports favorably on their activities.
(5) Dallas Express
This publication has anti-Gay campaigns itself and works with other groups such as Protect Texas Kids to opposed the Gay community and attempt to shut it down. The effort to shut down the Gay bars, item (1) in this list, is primarily being directed by them.
(6) The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property. (TFP).
Their website is
https://www.tfp.org/
This is a Catholic organization with pre-modern reactionary ideas. They are against modern democracy and think society should be ruled by aristocrats.
This is a link to their founder’s book. “Nobility and Analogous Traditional Elites.”
They are global in scope. https://www.tfp.org/links-tfps-inspired-related-groups/
This is the link to their founder.
https://www.tfp.org/the-founder/
You can see their flags in these pictures of the protest.
https://dallasvoice.com/protesters-hit-the-strip/
The article doesn’t comprehend that dangerously anti-Gay extreme right wing groups are a problem. This is the comment on TFP by a local idiot.
A local activist, who was at the scene, said the protesters were there to rally against a drag queen story hour happening at Mr. Misster. “They were there to scream at kids,” the activist said on Facebook, noting that some were Roman Catholics who were “actually behaved and just chanting the rosary. It’s the Infowars/fascist crowd that is problematic.”
They want the total annihilation of the Gay community, but this local activist is defending them.
This is a typical article at TFP. “How Drag Queen Events Prepare Children for Satanism.”

This search will show you the many, many articles and petitions to oppose drag queen story hours.

They have a student affiliate group.

They have this activity.
https://americaneedsfatima.org/
In their magazine, ANF Crusade, they report on their protest against drag queen story hours.
https://americaneedsfatima.org/magazines/anf-crusade-magazine-jul-aug-2022
They have a formal campaign against drag queen story hours.
The campaign against drag queen story hours and the Gay community in general isn’t confined to Evangelical Christians, it also involved reactionary Catholics.
(7) Homophobia at Dallas City Council meetings.
This link goes to the three-part presentation I gave and gives a link to the report that was earlier published. Omar Narvaez didn’t seem to be concerned.
(8) Stealth homophobia in Christian groups.
Nick Pitts is the president of the Dallas Christian Leadership Prayer Breakfast.
https://dclpb.org/committee-underwriters/
On 8/10/2022 Jaynie Schultz Dallas City Council member, District 11, had him come given an invocation.
He has written anti-Gay articles for the Denisonforum.org which appear to have been pulled. I found them on the internet archive. These are the links.
In this article Nick Pitts isn’t happy that an Evangelical church in San Francisco had become more accepting of Gays.
This article is in defense of trying to supposed therapy to make Gays straight.
Here Nick Pitts expresses his opposition to Gay marriage.
Surely the people who supported him to be president of the Dallas Christian Leadership Prayer Breakfast knew. A lot of Christians must be presenting a happy face to the public, but secretly are anti-Gay.
(9) Other attacks in Texas
1. There is this lawsuit end insurance coverage of Prep. Gays will die because of this. Literally they are our mortal enemies.
https://fortune.com/2022/07/26/hiv-prevention-drug-prep-texas-lawyer-abortion-ban-aca-lawsuit/
Quoting from the Bloomberg article:
Jonathan Mitchell, the Republican former solicitor general of Texas known for his efforts to restrict abortion access in the state, argues the mandatory PrEP coverage forces Christians to subsidize “homosexual behavior” in violation of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, a statute cited in other health care fights over abortion, contraception and treatments for transgender people.
His clients -- Christian-owned Kelley Orthodontics and Braidwood Management Inc., as well as several individuals who also object on religious grounds -- believe the mandate makes them complicit in “conduct that is contrary to their sincere religious beliefs,” Mitchell said at a hearing Tuesday.
2. There is this lawsuit that Bisexuals are not covered by federal employment protections. It is a Texas Christian group.
SUMMARY
There are multiple groups and individuals working on multiple anti-Gay agendas in the Dallas area and in Texas. The City of Dallas isn’t the welcoming place as much as some might want to represent it as being and we need to stop the denial saying that there isn’t an increasingly dangerous anti-Gay campaign underway. There is.
We need to be mobilized and ready to face the onslaughts against us which are coming.
