The deranged homophobia of Beth Moore. She is not a hero Dallas Morning News.
The fact that the Dallas Morning News would suggest that she be even a finalist for Texan of the Year is an attack on the humanity of the LGBT of DFW.

Beth Moore: Homophobes aren’t heroes, but the Dallas Morning News think they are.
The Dallas Morning News (DMN) is heaping praise on Beth Moore and saying she is a DMN Texan of the Year Finalist in this article, “Beth Moore opened her deepest wound so others could heal.” Some type of honor the DMN hands out.
https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/editorials/2023/12/18/beth-moore-texan-of-the-year-finalist/
Unfortunately, the Internet Archive isn’t able to fully archive it, but I have PDF of the article.
Beth Moore is currently a member of a homophobic denomination and has been a member of a homophobic denomination for nearly 40 years.
Beth Moore is still a victimizer and has been a victim for nearly 40 years.
Her complaint is that she had expected to be safely in the former group, but ended up in the later.
Somehow, someway, she had expected the Southern Baptist Convention not to be fans of Donald Trump.
It doesn’t occur to Beth Moore that Christian homophobes are homophobes as part of a larger patriarchal theology which enables the victimization of women. She is an idiot.
It seems that she thought that by being a part of a religious movement that victimized LGBT, she would solve her own problems. Or it just could be the usual shooting up fentanyl Jesus.
From the DMN article quoting from her memoir, “All My Knotted-Up Life.”:
“All my knotted-up life I’ve longed for the sanity and simplicity of knowing who’s good and who’s bad,” she wrote. “I needed neatness from God. What I got was a tangled-up knot.”
The article says that she had been a member of Houston First Baptist Church and was teaching an “aerobics/Bible study class” there in 1984.
The article says she has left the “Baptist denomination” and “now ministers at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church.”

They have a webpage to offer resources on saving you from same-sex attraction.
https://houstonsfirst.org/ministries/same-sex-attraction
They say they have resources on homosexuality, but they are resources for homophobia. It is a fairly extensive list of anti-Gay books, videos and other resources.
https://houstonsfirst.org/news-stories/resources-about-homosexuality
The above webpage has a timeline on the Gay movement and place in the context of the breakdown of society. It has extensive anti-Gay quotations from authors. There are small groups to deny your Gay identity. These links were supplied.
Small Groups
· Barnabas — for men struggling with same-sex attractions and desiring to find freedom through personal relationship with Jesus Christ
· Hope Group — support group encouraging friends and family members of loved ones struggling with homosexuality
· LIFT — provides support groups for men and women with unwanted same-sex attraction as well as friends and family of those dealing with homosexuality
The webpage is like a one-stop shopping for homophobia.

On Facebook they have additional material.
They didn’t like marriage for Gays.
This is the link for the video. 2015. As long as it was Gays getting poked Beth Moore didn’t care, it took the candidacy of Donald Trump to realize that she was a victim, not a victimizer. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10152825296955666

It is in a series titled, The Birds and the Bees.
1st Baptist Houston is the usual homophobic church of the Southern Baptist Convention and was actively persecuting the Gay community before Beth Moore realized that she was part of the victim class rather than the victimizer class.
St. Timothy’s Anglican Church
Beth Moore is now at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in Spring, Texas.
https://www.sttimothysanglican.org/
You won’t find anything at their church website, but they are one of the churches that broke away from the Episcopal Church and are now part of Anglican Church in North America. This denomination and other breakaway denominations broke away primarily over the issue of homosexuality.
This is one of their statements on “same sex attraction.”

Yes, I know the above is Wikipedia, you can go check background and find out that this is largely correct.
Of all the denominations and religions that Beth Moore had to choose from, she chooses a vocally anti-Gay denomination. From the 2009 edition of her book on praying we will see why.
Beth Moore’s words on homosexuality
She had a book, “Praying God’s Word” which argued that homosexuality was a special evil.
Now she has deleted a passage from the electronic version of her book that called homosexuality “another deadly assault of the evil one in our society.”
This is the 2016 edition of “Praying God’s Word Day by Day.”
https://archive.org/details/prayinggodswordd0000moor_l9c2
From page 207 of the book. It is about becoming an ex-Gay.
Lord God, I know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God. I choose to be deceived no longer: neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And I have been some of those things.
But I have now been washed. I have been sanctified, I have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of my God (1 Cor. 6:9-I1). Lord God, guard my course and protect my way as I pursue a righteous, victorious life in You (Prov. 2.8)
The big reveal of who Beth Moore is, is in her 2009 edition.
She is delulu for Jesus.
This is from the 2009 edition, “Praying God’s Word.” Warning, sanctimonious homophobia. Beth Moore is a vicious homophobe. How many lives did she hurt with this type of writing. Did she ever publicly apologize, not the non-apology apology, but she was wrong to not just write this, but attack Gays. The face that the Dallas Morning News (DMN) would praise this person, can tell you how trivial they regard the humanity the LGBT.
From the 2009 edition of the book:
Page 279
Before we proceed to our Scripture-prayers for overcoming sexual strongholds, we are wise to address another deadly sexual assault of the evil one in our society: homosexuality. I have wonderful news for anyone who has struggled with homosexual sin. God indeed can deliver you and anxiously awaits your full cooperation. Do not let Satan shame you into not seeking forgiveness, fullness, and complete restoration in Jesus Christ. I know complete transformation is possible not only because God’s Word says so, I know plenty of believers who have been set free from homosexuality. If you have a sound, Spirit-filled, restoring church, you probably sit near someone
Page 280
who has been freed and yet you have no idea. Why? Because the subject is still so tragically taboo in our churches that they are afraid to give their testimony. I am convinced that God wants us to speak freedom from our pulpits to every kind of captive … not just the socially “acceptable” ones. Ironically, one reason some former captives return to their previous homosexual lifestyle is because they find more “community” among their fellow sinners than their fellow saints. Oh, how we need the heart of Christ as we minister in the Body of Christ! We must learn how to deal with the issue of homosexuality in our churches because God’s Word clearly tells us it will only increase as the return of Christ draws nearer.
When asked for the signs of His coming, Christ compared both the society of Noah and the society of Lot (Luke 17:26,28), pointing to the increase of heterosexual and homosexual sin. Noah’s generation is described in Genesis 6:5: “The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.” The uprising of homosexual sin in particular becomes obvious in Genesis 18 and 19 in the city of Sodom where Lot and his family lived. It’s no accident that God’s Word compares the generation preceding Christ’s return with those of Noah and Lot. The dramatic increase in every kind of sexual sin is one of the most obvious signs of our times.
Yes, freedom is possible for the person who will seek Christ with all his or her heart no matter how long the bondage of homosexuality has continued. You must, however, be ready for the fight of your life. A fight that will have a magnificent harvest … but a fight nonetheless. Experts in the area of “homosexuality and the Christian” agree virtually across the board that homosexuality is as powerful and binding a yoke as exists.
Page 281
I believe it is one of Satan’s “pet” yokes. One of his favorites. It is the ultimate slam against the man-women relationship that prefigures Christ and his Bride, the Church. I believe the assault of homosexuality specifically against the people of God is Satan’s devious means of infiltrating the Church with perversity at the exact time the Bride is supposed to be “making herself ready” for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Rev. 19). Please don’t misunderstanding me. One of God’s priority purposes for the Church is for her to be a welcoming place of restoration and recovery for all who desire to be freed from the captivity of sin. Homophobia is the last thing I’m suggesting for the Church; however, our current unwillingness to admit the problem, embrace the repentant, and aid in biblical restoration—all symptomatic of homophobia—has left us more vulnerable to evil than helpful to the captive.
Homosexuality is one of Satan’s primary agendas in our current society. He is selling it at every corner in our current society. He is selling it at every corner both blatantly and subtly. Deception is never more active in any yoke of bondage than this one. If deception is indeed the glue that holds every stronghold together, the glue of deception in homosexuality is more like concrete. Our society is falling for a huge lie. Contrary to current propaganda, the same-sex “monogamous” relationship is not “just like the opposite-sex relationship.” Every person liberated from the homosexual lifestyle I’ve ever talked to or read about has described it as obsessive, controlling, and increasingly absorbing. In a way only understood in the unseen world, a satanically induced web is associated with this particular yoke. This webbing of victims is methodically woven through a full-scale attack on the mind and emotions, taking advantage of every loophole in the lives involved. As the enemy draws one person
Page 282
after another into the web, his victims replace sound reasoning with rationalizing, lifelong value systems with a big lie called “tolerance,” and become “feelings”-driven rather than “truth”-driven. One woman who wanted to be free admitted, “I want to be out because I know it’s sin. It’s just that “I’ve never had anyone love me like that before.”
[Italics in the original in the above extracts. Moore also puts “…” in her text, but it is unclear whether they are just pauses for effect or actual elisions.]
The insane drivel goes on beyond this, but I think the reader gets the idea of who Beth Moore is.
Some thoughts.
Beth Moore appears to be a book factory which produces lots of sentimental deep breathing self-help stuff about Christianity.
The reason she revised her text on homosexuality in the 2009 edition of “Praying” to the 2016 edition, is that her audience is sentimentalists who like to have gushing feelings about Christ and God, etc. The 2009 sections were too harsh for her target market. They want to be anti-Gay, but not have any unpleasant feelings, and gush about Christ and be saved without the impediment of hostility towards their Gay child, relative, neighbor etc.
As she explains in her blog post:
I also heard from some heartbroken mothers about their kids who were having a hard enough time feeling ostracized as it was.
Beth Moore needs the next thing to sell the next book. So, after all these years she has a big reveal about her father as the sexual abuses who has been conveniently dead since 2007.
She is still a homophobe who is active in the attempt to harm the Gay community.
She isn’t a hero.
To have her even be Texan of the Year Finalist is an assault on the human worth of the LGBT.
The fact that the Dallas Morning News would even consider her at all, let alone make her a finalist for their Texan of the Year shows how they don’t respect the humanity of the LGBT.
It also explains their policy of ommitting homophobia in some of their reporting. They don’t think it is important.
This isn’t the first time the Dallas Morning News has omitted the issue of homophobia about an individual or group.
There is so much homophobic junk in reporting on her, I likely missed some stuff. I will add update in the title if I find more and I feel I should add it in.
