Gov. Abbott and Ken Paxton are pandering to right wing elements about EPIC city.
They are talking about a Sharia city and other such stuff and just making up reasons to go after EPIC city. It is rather obvious.
The Dallas Morning News has made a timeline for everything that is happening.

This is the link. The article is by Nabila Mansoor (Monsoor), who the article states, is the “co-executive director for Asian Texans for Justice.” The article has two different spellings for her name, Mansoor at the beginning, but Monsoor in the biographicaly byline.
The above article tells how Ramadan and the mosque is full of positive social values. Then Monsoor states:

In my day job, I am the co-executive director of Asian Texans for Justice, a nonprofit that works to help the 2 million Asian Texans who call Texas home. My work often takes me to the Capitol, advocating for policies that uplift our communities. But this legislative session, we’ve heard some troubling rumblings. Across North Texas, a vision of community is taking shape: homes, schools, parks, businesses, and a mosque — rooted in values of faith, family and belonging. And yet, this vision has become a target for fear.
Monsoor is quite right in pointing out that Texas Gov. Abbott and Texas Attoney General and others are engaged in fear mongering.
Monsoor states:
These identities have too often been politicized and policed. But the future of Texas is multiracial, multilingual, and multifaith—whether we prepare for it or no.
Notice that Monsoor’s definition of diversity doesn’t included LGBT.
Monsoor also states:
So as we approach the end of Ramadan, let’s reject the politics of fear and lean into the values we say we believe in: faith, freedom and neighborliness.
Reading the article, we don’t know which mosque Nabila Monsoor goes to.
It can be asked who is this “faith, freedom and neighborliness” includes.
For EPIC City and its promoters, it doesn’t include Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals.
This person is the leader of the EPIC city project.
In all the sentimental writing of Nabila Monsoor, omitted is that the people behind EPIC city are a menance to Gays.
Other major Muslim leaders in the DFW area are homophobic. Omar Sulieman who managed to worm his way into a memorial in Dallas for the victims of the Pulse Massacre in Orlando, Florida, has gone on a big campaign to make sure that everyone knows he is against Gay rights.
The Dallas Morning News usually omits the homophobia of religious groups in their reporting. This is about the arrest of North Texas Imam Wisam Sharieff and how the homophobia of the AlMaghrib Institute is omitted in the reporting.
The Dallas Morning News usually omits the fact that an individual or organization is homophobic in their reporting. They wouldn’t omit that a group is racist or anti-Semitic, but they omit almost always, that a religious group or individual is homophobic. I have an index of my reporting on that here.

Who is Nabila Mansoor?
It seems that the correct spelling is Mansoor.
She is the co-executive director of Asian Texas for Justice.

The sound is somewhat poor and the YouTube struggles to transcribe it and this guy speech isn’t the clearest, but tthey are upset that the general American society accepts homosexuality and they see it as a menace. He is also upset with America being secular. The ranting on homosexuality starts at about 18:00.

How much is the humanity of Gays valued by the Democrats and he Social Justice type people?
Not much obviously.
Would these organizations accept a know racist or anti-Semite in their groups, much less have them be an officer or director, the answer is no, they would not.
You can see that Nabila Mansoor is involved in one social jusice group after another and the whole question of her homophobia is avoided.
