I did a report on Reddit about an Anti-Gay Muslim Activist exploiting mpox (monkeypox) and who had contacted the Dallas Police and launched a petition to shut down Gay events. (Link with details below.)
This was the post on r/Dallas reddit. The Upvote was 101. In about 3.5 hours it had 29 shares and over 16,000 views. Had it stayed up it likely would have gotten 100k views in 24 hours. But it upset a certain type of santictimonious opinion and r/Dallas pulled it. They made up a reason, but basically they just didn’t like the post.
This is why Gay rights makes so little progress in Dallas, all these people that want to shut down a Gay liberation program.
This is the post I made.
Before I discuss what happened, I want to say that a great majority of Muslims in the Dallas area not like this and I worked with many Pakastani engineers and they were nice people. What bothers me about this is that Anila Jahangiri states that she is a Sunday School teacher with the Islamic Circle of North America and I contacted them about this on 11/20/2022 by email and I have NOT heard back as of 12/11/2022.
Jahangiri wanted the Gay events, which are private affairs and not public, to be prosecuted under the Public Indeceny Acts. Besides starting a petition, she contacted the Dallas Police Dept.
With the Indonesian legislature making Gays illegal in Indonesia, we can see how places formerly known as place of moderate Islam can take radical shifts. Jahangiri got only 61 signatures, but why we don't know. I might te that most Muslims thought that she was wacko, or it might be she lacked the ability to get publicity. Or some of both.
I think the the Islamic Circle of North America needs to drop her and what other Islamic groups she is a member of need to drop her, but I also think we shouldn't be alarmist either or go crazy.
If the Islamic Circle of North America had dropped her, I would not be posting this, but since they don't seem to care, we need to ventilate this issue.
The following post has the links to her petition, her contacting the Dallas Police, and her webpages and LinkedIn. It wasn't clear to me, but it appeared she is some health professional. Gay people need to be careful who is treating them.
Followed by this link. Which was my original post on the topic.
This person launched this attack on the Gay community and was conducting a witch hunt on the Gay community, yet my reporting on it was called a witch hunt.
The reason given was the following.
Basically they didn’t like the post and just pulled something out of the air for a reason. I was getting a fairly high percentage of votes against it, aboyr 20 to 25%. I don’t think I was getting Muslim votes against it, but instead a sort of self-righteous vote against this and they were reporting it and the moderators caved.
Had mpox gotten out of control, she might have initiated a serious anti-Gay campaign against the Gay community. Yet she isn’t being held accountable.
The moderators either didn’t want to have complaints about their subreddit with the reddit management, or like so many people just get upset when there is controversy. We are all supposed to just sit around and sing a happy song and sweep things under the rug.

I can reply back to them that their reason is just a pre-text for not liking my post, but that will result in me getting banned.
Substack promotes themselves as immune from banning and deleting so subscribing, which is free is one way to stay in touch.
Again, please share to help me beat censorship.
