Visiting the Dallas Log Cabin Republicans meeting. What I learned. Why I did it.
They previously had stopped existing and now they were re-organized. So I went to a meeting to find out what they were about.
Subscriptions are free.
Dallas Log Cabin Club Republican meeting.
They had a meeting on March 20, 2025, 6pm, at the Cremona Italian Bistro on Worthington. The cost was $35 for non-members and I am a non-member.
I went because sometimes I catch the Democrats undermining Gay concerns and I think they might use it and the information will become generally known and the Democrats will be more careful on what they might do that is injurious to the LGBT.
I have and plan to report to the Gay Democrats what I find the Gay Republicans might do that is bad for Gays for the same reason.
I also went to observe the Dallas Log Cabin Republicans and report on them.
The people friendly. I think there are two or maybe three women out of about 20 or 30 people there. I wore one of my Thai t-shirts with a Buddhist amulet to see if there would be a reaction, there wasn’t.
Meeting
The meeting opened with a prayer, the American Pledge of Allegiance, and the Texas Pledge. The American Pledge of Allegiance didn’t exist until the early 20th century when many Americans were alarmed by immigration from Europe. I did the American pledge, but not the Texas pledge. I did not do the prayer.
Both speakers raised serious questions with me.
They had two speakers. The first speaker was the person who runs the Dallas En Fuego account on X. https://x.com/dallasenfuego and a Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@DallasEnFuego
He talked about a Dallas City Council member who was supporting the building of an apartment complex and being dismissive of the local neighborhood that was concerned. I have always said sardonically that real estate development is the highest value of Dallas society and so this neighborhood group was not going to succeed in blocking the development.
The speaker also went on about $6 million spent on counting trees. The fact is that there is concern about the tree canopy in Dallas and I very much doubt it was about counting trees, but was about measuring the tree canopy in Dallas.
Trees by evaporation through their leaves and blocking sunlight high off the ground and also providing shade can have a big impact on air temperatures near ground level and livability. The sunlight is absorbed and is dissipated high off ground level, and a person doesn’t get sunlight heating them up. My neighborhood has a good tree canopy which makes it much nicer and not quite so hot in the summer and adds a lot, I mean a lot, of value to our homes on the real estate.
Also, $6 million for Dallas is roughtly $5.50 per person. If Dallas is seen as an oven during the summer, people won’t move here and property values will suffer.
I think Dallas Enfuego just wants to wipe up drama and outrage whether there is any real thing about it.
He also said he was some officer in HERO, a group wanting more Dallas police officers. I think we might need more police, however, HERO is Monty Bennett’s thing and Monty Bennett and his publication are the enemies of Gays.

Dallas Express did articles supporting HERO.

The Dallas Express is also a serious enemy of the LGBT in the Dallas Fort Worth Area.
The Dallas Express led the charge against the Modern Art Museum in Fort Worth. I have a series of articles on them, this is the latest.
The second speaker was Machelle Wells candidate in District 6.
Incidentally, the info on the candidates running are online at Dallas City Hall at this link.

Her filing with Dallas City Hall as a candidate.

She gave a speech about how she was concerned about the residents and I think how City Hall was failing.
What was very interesting was that she announced that she was the only Constitutional and Biblically based candidate. So I did a little research.
This is a page about her. As this post will show, some really critical info is missing.

At Modern Day Missions there is this post about here.
Machelle Wells is a vibrant, energetic millennial who has a calling to inspire and radically impact this next generation of youth, young adults, and women to walk in their full identity, giftings and calling. Her mission is to help raise up the next generation of leaders who will impact and expand the Kingdom of God.
Machelle is an speaks on identity and how to walk in freedom, an emcee for Dare2Share, a gospel conference for youth and serves as a prayer minister, helping people to obtain healing and deliverance from the bondage of soul wounds and lies. She lives in Dallas, TX and attends UPPERROOM Dallas Campus, serving as a leader in the prophetic/healing rooms and altar ministry team. [Boldface added.]

Upperroom is a serious enemy of Gays. They had a rally for the ex-LGBT in 2023.
All the documentation is in this report I did earlier.
She has a YouTube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/@machellewells/videos
She keeps putting a “k” into the pronunciation of “Bahrain” in this presentation. Claim of divine intervention in YouTube searching brought her from the life she led to Jesus.
Conclusion
Over the years going back to the 1970s I have noticed the Gay Republicans support anti-Gay candidates. I would have hoped that there would have been a change by now in 2025.
In regards to Wells running for office, a cursory investigaton by the Log Cabin Republicans would have brought up her history.
Similary basic checks on Dallas Enfuego would have brought the issues of the Dallas Express to light.
I think some questions at the meeting about their involvement with homophobic groups would have been good for both speakers. I also wonder if the two speakers knew who they were speaking to.
The Log Cabin Republicans probably won’t like this report, but facts is facts. I am not going to judge them entirely on one meeting, but I will be drawing a conclusion observering them over time.
The Stonewall Democrat shouldn’t be too smug about this. They have a rather checkered record also.
hahaha, nice elephant
Thank you for taking the time to write this article. however, It’s essential to clarify our position as gay Republicans: we embrace inclusivity and respect for all beliefs, religions, and sexualities. Our commitment to unity is reflected in our patriotic practices, such as the Pledge of Allegiance to the flags of both America and Texas. We believe that each individual has the right to choose their own path, and we strive to foster an environment that celebrates diversity while remaining grounded in our shared values as one nation under God.
Regarding our speakers, their presence was not intended to promote any specific ideology or agenda based on sexuality or race. Instead, they aimed to contribute positively to Dallas, focusing on policies that enhance our community and environment. We appreciate their efforts to educate our group about ways to make our city a better place.
I also want to address your comments about our meeting attendance. Your observation about the number of attendees was inaccurate. While we had fewer participants than usual due to adjustments in our online scheduling, this should not be interpreted as a reflection of our chapter's vitality. Our commitment to engaging discussions and community improvement remains strong.
We acknowledge your presence at our gathering, and while your arrival at 5:30 PM may have disrupted our leadership team's setup, we welcomed you to join us. We invite you to return for a deeper understanding of our mission and initiatives. Constructive dialogue is vital, and we believe there’s an opportunity for you to revisit your impressions and share a more accurate representation of our chapter.
Best regards,
Simon Aslanpour
