2024-01-10 I formally reply that I commit to pay the fee of $67.50 for the records of the raid in response to the email from the City of Dallas. This is encouraging because it means there are some records to be had.

2024-01-17 Invoice sent for the records. $67.50. I paid it that day. I had paid it prior, but I didn’t want to have an issue that they lost the check or something. So I paid it twice to make sure. Update: 1/31/2024. They refuse to release the records.
2024-01-18 Meeting in which I brought up the 2010 raid and whether a raid was still possible. They said they would email and they did.
2024-01-19 I responded to their email. As of 1/27/2024 I haven’t got any response.

2024-01-25 Created Facebook group, Dallas LGBT History. Another supposed LGBT history group leaves post about the inquiry with the police officers in pending for 4 days. Probably upset because of something or another. All updates on this investigation will be in this group.

2024-01-31 Megan Sykes, LGBTQ+ liaison throws a TANTRUM in reply to my review of her last reply. She also forgets she is a public official and is really haughty.

Next Steps - Updated.
Letter to Mike Nguyen of Caven Enterprises
I posted a link to the petition regarding the Club baths on Party on the Block facebook group.
[1] The petition asks for a historical commission to investigate past raides. S4, was then known as Village Station when it was raided back in 1979, and that would be part of the investigation.
[2] Implement policies to prevent future raids.
[3] Reparation for of these victims. This would include, but not be limited to an apology.
It was rejected as not being relevant to the block. However, the fact that a raid could occur is relevant to every Gay place in the City of Dallas. Also, a historical commission looking into the raid could find out who was victimized and perhaps effect some type of reparations.
Review what the City of Dallas sends me in response to my Freedom of Information Request. UPDATE: 1/31/2024. REFUSED RECORD RELEASE.
They have suddenly told me that my $67.50 has been refunded and that they will not be sending me any records.
Cancelled: Rewrite History with what information I get from the City. UPDATE: 1/31/2024. THEY REFUSED RECORD RELEASE.
They have suddenly told me that my $67.50 has been refunded and that they will not be sending me any records.
Dallas District Attorney: DONE. I wrote a letter to Dallas DA John Creuzot and mailed it 2/4/2024 Earlier I had made an inquiry with Dallas County to get the Dallas District attorney records. I ran into a road block. The problem was that dealing with the City of Dallas was taking a far amoung of time, so I decided to delay making inquiry with the County of Dallas.
I also thought that I would be in much better position to ask questions if I had the information from the City of Dallas. So this is waiting on a reply from the City of Dallas.
Update: The City of Dallas has refused to release the information and so I am not waiting for that information.
Texas Attorney General: The City of Dallas wrote then Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott about whether they were legally obligated to release records. So I will be writing the Texas Attorney General.
Citizen Complaint made on Oct. 13, 2010: The person who made the complaint resulting in the raid on Oct. 8, 2010 made a subsequent complaint on Oct. 13, 2010. I have had a struggle with the first requests, so I am holding off on making a request for this until I get the results of my first request made on 12/21/2023. Also, the response to my first request might have the information already.
Update: The City of Dallas has refused to release the information and so I am not waiting for that information.
The Club Dallas: I will write them last when I have all the other inquiries completed. I don’t expect that they will want to help or respond. I will make the inquiry because there is a chance they might help, and also to say I did write them. I was really surprised at people who expected them to be helpful.
There will be more steps as information comes in, I will see more things I need to do. Also, I need to check at the Dallas Public Library to see if the Dallas Time Herald covered it, the Dallas Morning News didn’t.
I need to get people to sign this petition.
It asks for the full release of the records, change in policies to not have raids, and a historical commission to investigate all the raids.
