6/8/2022 Invocation
From my speech:
Dr. Adam C. Wright, President of Dallas Baptist University, was chosen by Mayor Johnson. DBU is also on the Worst List of Campus Pride and whose conduct code bans Gays. [Boldface added.]
On 6/8/2022 City Council meeting, Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson had the president of Dallas Baptist University give the invocation.
If you go to this LGBT group which investigates and reports on universities, Campus Pride,
You will see a table for the “Worst List,” the “Absolute Worst Campuses for LGBTQ Youth.”

And on that list is Dallas Baptist University and an explanation why.
CONCLUSION
You don’t have to visit Stedfast or Westboro Baptist Church to find vicious homophobia, you can find it slithering, stealth promoted, right here in the Dallas City Council. Further, there are those who claim to be defenders of the LGBT, but in reality, in the defense against homophobia, are the Uvalde police.
Under the radar many anti-Gay groups, active against the welfare of the Gay community were being promoted by the Dallas City Council.
PART I DIDN’T GET TO SAY.
Dallas City Council should not empower the deadly enemies of the LGBT by having them give invocations.
I ran out of time, but I think they understood without saying what my request was.

SPEECH ON INVOCATIONS BEFORE DALLAS CITY COUNCIL 20220921
An individual and his religious group is given prestige, credibility, and legitimacy when selected to give an invocation before a prestigious body. The summer and early September invocations of the Dallas City Council have been an extended summer of blistering and yet stealth homophobia.
Five of the eight invocators are from churches, institutions, and organizations which are the enemies, and given the current lawsuit against Prep coverage, it is not excessive to say the mortal enemies of Gay people.
In reverse order of the invocations.
Russell Freeman of Cottonwood Creek Baptist chosen by Mayor Johnson, has a Youtube Bible class against Gays. The Cottonwood Creek Church has a class on how to not let your love for your child interfere with your religious bigotry and he is part of the leadership of Southwestern Theological Seminary which is on the Worst List of Campus Pride.
Rochia Green of the extremely anti-Gay Denisonforum, based in Dallas, was chosen by Mendelsohn. Jim Denison, wasted no time in exploiting monkeypox to attack Gays as part of his ongoing relentless series of attacks on Gay people. He opposes efforts to stop the bullying of Gay students and fought Gay marriage. His book, “Coming Tsunami,” sees Gays and Critical Race Theory leading to an apocalyptic disaster.
Nick Pitts, president of Dallas Christian Leadership Prayer Breakfast, chosen by Jaynie Schultz, had articles in the Denisonforum, which disappeared, but were found in the Internet Archive. He feels that Gays can be converted to be straight, same-sex marriage is dangerous, and condemns an Evangelical church in San Francisco that accepts Gays.
Jesse Perez and Mando Perico, selected by Adam Bazaldua, are from Victory Outreach church, a denomination global in scope, and compares being Gay to stealing, swindling, and drug addiction and believes that being Gay can be cured.
