The news article about the turmoil at Fair Park and Fair Park President Darren James resigning.
Darren James is the President of the Board for Fair Park First. Nice touch to have an African American be preserving and promoting the world’s largest white supremacist assemblage of buildings, but that is another story.
Our recent chapter was published and it is rather expensive to purchase. It is by Springer, a really respected academic pubisher.

Fair Park First hired a CEO who wanted to get an auditor. The board fired the CEO, then reversed themselves and hired back the CEO, then when the CEO came back, Park Board members have started to resign.
The following are links to the whole messey story.
His Bio including membership in the Concord church.
From his Texas Architects bio online.
Senior Pastor Bryan L. Carter asked Darren to serve on the Concord Council of Elders Board almost three years ago. Concord is known state-wide for its extensive community outreach and its own Community Development Corporation. Pastor Carter asked Darren to serve because of his connectivity to the business community at all levels as well as the respect Darren has garnered for the work he does in the community. As Concord navigated pandemic shutdowns, Darren’s business expertise helped guide the church through creating a digital Sunday service and navigating the financial challenges associated with the lack of physical attendance. Concord ended up growing through this time and was able to reach parishioners from across the country. [Bold face added.]

Bryan Carter is a nationally prominent homophobe.
There are other African American leaders who are prominent and homophobes.
Also, an Elder at Concord Church is Dallas City Council member Zarin Gracey. Click on the image.
The president of the board for the Dallas African American Museum is a prominent homophobe.
Then there is the recently resigned Tony Evans.
Is it any surprise that Texas State Sen. Royce West voted against drag and then said it was a mistake? There are prominent homophobes in the community and TX Sen. West could depend on a so-called Dallas LGBT leadership desperate to hear any excuse.
The whole sorry story is in this collection of posts about what happened.
TX Sen. Royce West and Vonciel Hill Jones helped launch Zarin Gracey’s political career. Click on the image.
