Before getting into the discussion of the project, I thought I would show the pictures of the nine homophobic churches I took yesterday.
I plan on doing one photographing expedition per week on a good weather day.

This two churches were mentioned a lot when I asked for churches to photograph. I already have a lot of pictures of them from visiting locations where I could photograph them.

Which churches are in the photo documentation plan?
This is the current Excel sheet. It is up to 68 churches.
1st Column church name, 2nd column denomination if any, 3rd column city, 4th column is whether Dallas Gay Liberation has done a report, 5th was it suggested on Facebook, 6th column did I photograph it, and then the 7th column is notes. A yellow filled cell means that the church is a priority. There are 68 churches. I have photographed 11 so far. The list is composed of Facebook suggestions, churches I have written about, and churches that are in the news. Additionally, when I go up to a place to photograph a church, I try to include other homophobic churches in the area.
Mapping homophobia
I have a mapbox account and I am going to be doing a map of Dallas with a red dot for all the homophobic churches. The scale of the map will have to be big, otherwise the map will just be a mass of red.
Houses of hate in a city of hate.
When I visited Taiwan and saw all their temples and realized that there was a religious world without hating Gays, I realized that in Dallas we live in a cesspool of religious homophobia.
By doing this photography and mapping I plan on making the City of Hate and its Houses of Hate visible.
